My Contributions
(January 2019 - March 2020) - CG Environment Artist
Within my second year of university, I had the opportunity to asset alongside the 3rd Years with their final year graduation films. Through this opportunity, I assisted with the production of Midnight Freak Train, a CG horror film based in the London Underground.

Brief : 'To design and model a tube station and tunnel to coincide with the current train model. A small and compact station is preferable and we suggest modelling a section of the tunnel and then making that section repeatable. You will be provided with the existing train model for reference.'

With a brief provided, on this project I was assigned to concept and model a tube station in which the story would take place. Complying with the brief provided by the production's director and producer, I designed and modelled a small underground station which included several assets alongside their primary prop (the train model). Once completed, this model was taken by the satisfied team who then went on to texture the model and include it within their film.
Environment
Concepting and modelling of the MFT train station.
The main focus of the brief was to design and model an underground style train station intended to be small and compact. With this is mind, I very quickly started researching previous and existing tube stations, primarily those found within the London area, to give the station a British feel. After some research and concepting of various designs, the director and producer selected their favourite and tasked me with the modelling of said station. The outcome of this is the station you see below.
The team were very satisfied with the outcome, who then went on to texture this model and include it within the final cut of the film.
Assets
Creation of the MFT train station assets
Whilst creating the environment, it was clear I needed to create a variety of assets which I could then implement to fill the station and give it the compact and urban feel the team was looking for. Using the research I had previously gathered, I went on to model a selection of unique assets, ranging from the London Underground station signs to bins, which would naturally be expected to be found within this environment. The outcome of these smaller assets can be seen below.

Once completed, I then distributed these models within the station to finalise and come to the outcome you see today. From here the team were happy with the outcome and picked up the model for texturing and further use.
